The Inchworms classroom is designed for infants aged 6 weeks to 11 months, with flexibility for movement based on each child’s readiness and availability. We have separate spaces for children who are crawling and cruising, as well as a designated area for infants who are not yet mobile. Our curriculum, called New Beginnings, focuses on allowing children to explore their environment while forming strong bonds with caregivers.
Teachers incorporate various stimuli to support the development of motor skills, cognitive abilities, social interaction and language. Daily activities include physical and cognitive exercises to stimulate learning, with creative materials like flashcards, puppets, wall displays, bubbles, music and monthly themed toys.
Radcliffe staff prioritize quality care, offering plenty of TLC, tummy time, singing, reading, mirror play and gross motor activities throughout the day, both in one-on-one and group settings. Our goal is to prepare each child for the toddler years, helping them master developmental milestones with loving attention and support.
The Snuggle Bugs classroom is for one-year-olds, with flexibility for moving up based on each child’s readiness and availability. Children in this room are walking and exploring their environment more each day. The curriculum, called New Beginnings, is based on the Creative Curriculum® and is designed to encourage exploration while fostering strong bonds with caregivers.
Teachers use a variety of stimuli to support the development of motor skills, cognitive abilities, social interaction and language skills. Daily activities include physical and cognitive exercises to stimulate learning, with children exploring and learning through materials around the classroom. The program follows theme-based learning that aligns with Pennsylvania's early learning standards.
Radcliffe staff prioritize TLC, exploration, art, singing, reading, mirror play and gross motor activities throughout the day, both during one-on-one and group time. Teachers in this room focus on preparing children for the toddler years, helping them reach each milestone while providing attentive, loving care throughout the day.
The Crayola Room is for children ages 1.5 to 2.5 years old, a time when they are highly impressionable and eager to imitate everything around them. Teachers guide and nurture the children through various stimuli, recognizing that play is a crucial part of their learning at this age.
It’s important for children in the Crayola Room to receive plenty of love, social interaction, and independence to explore. When children feel safe and loved, they develop the confidence to accomplish tasks on their own, which encourages further exploration, learning and boosts self-esteem.
The curriculum in the Crayola Room is based on monthly thematic units and center-based activities. Repetition plays a key role in learning, so concepts are reinforced consistently throughout the month and school year. Children are introduced to colors, shapes, body parts, and new vocabulary, with new concepts introduced each month.
Circle time serves as the foundation for introducing these concepts, which are then built upon through child-initiated play in the learning centers. The alphabet is introduced through songs and playful activities.
Fine motor skills are developed through activities like puzzles, play dough, and glue-and-stick projects, while gross motor skills are encouraged through walking, running and climbing.
The Sunshine Room is for three-year-olds, with a focus on potty training for children who are not yet potty trained. Teachers work closely with each child and their parents on an individual basis to help children become more familiar and comfortable with using the potty.
However, potty training isn’t the only focus in this classroom! Children also develop social skills, recognize primary colors and shapes, and are introduced to numbers 1-10 and the letters A-J. We use a center-based curriculum that teaches real-life skills through play. Letter identification is reinforced with "letter puppets" and other engaging materials that connect learning to real-life experiences.
These concepts are introduced during circle time, where children also learn about the calendar, new songs, finger plays, monthly themes, and the weather. Once a concept is introduced, it can be expanded upon through child-initiated play in the learning centers.
The Disney Room is designed for children who are three years old by September 1 and are fully potty trained. Our curriculum emphasizes exploration and structured learning, helping children develop foundational skills for future education.
Daily activities begin with Circle Time, where children engage in interactive lessons covering the alphabet, numbers and thematic topics through songs and games. Hands-on learning experiences are central to our approach, allowing children to explore math concepts and enhance their fine and gross motor skills in a playful environment.
Teachers provide individualized attention while fostering social interactions, ensuring that each child feels supported and encouraged. By mid-year, children will also gain confidence using computers, reinforcing their learning through educational games and online exploration. In the Disney Room, we create a joyful atmosphere where children thrive as they learn through play.
The Shining Stars & Teddy Bear Rooms are our Pre-K classrooms for children who are four years old as of September 1. Our curriculum is designed to create an engaging environment that enhances learning and prepares students for Kindergarten.
Each day begins with Circle Time, where children share personal experiences and discuss calendar concepts while practicing everyday math. This gathering fosters communication skills through activities like author chair, themed months, and show-and-tell.
The curriculum focuses on letter and number recognition, print concepts, and the foundational skills of phonics and sight words. Children will also explore science and social studies through thematic units integrated into play centers.
Fine and gross motor skills are developed through daily activities such as painting, play dough, lacing beads, and puzzles, which help enhance hand control for writing. The Shining Stars Room includes dedicated physical education time to promote coordination and gross motor skills. Additionally, a music coordinator visits weekly to enrich our curriculum with creative musical experiences.
